Diagnosis starts from the visible state, not the final metric. Session, permission, missing data, an active request, an error and a zero value need different actions.
Diagnostic rule — Record route, provider, period, banner, last command and displayed message. Never attach API Key, Secret, Passphrase or personal data.
Documentation boundary — Cyclepedia explains verified interfaces and controls; it cannot change accounts, licences, integrations or operating queues.
DEMO MODE remains after sign-in
Treat figures as demonstrations while the banner is visible. Close the demo from its banner or re-enter Ufficio and confirm that the profile is active. Do not investigate a real-account P&L difference before leaving this state.
Settings sends me to Dashboard or login
Settings requires an authenticated session. Sign in with a return to /ufficio/settings; if the session expired, complete sign-in again. Visitors can explore Dashboard, Analytics and Diary but cannot manage credentials.
UID, licence or trial does not proceed
Check the selected provider, identifier, displayed state and current availability. Pending, rejected, expired, trial and verified are not synonyms. Do not create operating credentials to bypass a review in progress.
The API key is rejected
Check account type, Key, Secret, Passphrase when required, copied spaces, expiry, IP restrictions and permissions. Trading, transfers and withdrawals must be disabled. If a key with operating permissions is rejected, the control is protecting the account; recreate it as read-only.
The provider is connected but trades are missing
Saving does not necessarily start immediate import. Open Analytics → Synchronise, select the correct provider and wait. Then check period, account or sub-account and history depth supplied by the source.
P&L, equity or trades differ
Start with one trade. Compare timezone, quantity, side, prices, fees, funding, rebates, partial executions and capital movements. Also check filters, excluded trades and starting capital. A different aggregate does not reveal the cause.
I see a dash, blank field or zero
A dash or blank area may mean missing data or a non-applicable calculation. 0 is a value only when the field is present and the perimeter supports it. Reload once and check the source before replacing “missing” with “zero”.
What to send to support
Report date and time, route, provider, session state, period, action and exact error text. Obscure email, UID when unnecessary, balances and identifiers; never show credentials. Keep the original history for reconciliation.
