CycleSic: real-time data, the current candle and NOW

How to distinguish data flow from the NOW camera in CycleSic, verify a current tail and recover after CSV, replay or disconnection.

In CycleSic, the data engine and the NOW button perform different jobs. The engine brings in new candles; NOW moves the camera to the present. If you pan into the past, data may continue to arrive outside your current view.

Essential idea — NOW is a camera, not the live-feed switch.

Documentation boundary — This guide explains observable data-flow states and user actions. It does not document reserved protocols, repair rules or internal logic.

Check that you are viewing the present

  1. Confirm symbol and timeframe.
  2. Compare the last candle time with the market clock.
  3. Press NOW if you have panned or zoomed into the past.
  4. Wait for an update consistent with the timeframe.
  5. After a timeframe change, wait for the transition to finish.

Expected result: the current candle sits at the right edge and its time belongs to the active interval. Mobile can also expose a compact flow status.

Live engine and live candle

The live engine joins loaded history to new data. The live candle is the continuous way that update is drawn. Smooth animation alone does not certify a complete series; the meaningful check is still time and continuity.

The engine starts with the app. There is no user control intended to leave it voluntarily off. It can be suspended when another feature must isolate a different series or point in time.

When flow is suspended

  • CSV: CycleSic protects the local file from online market ticks. Use Remove CSV to return online.
  • Replay: the terminal is showing controlled history. Exit replay to rejoin the present.
  • Disconnection: the terminal attempts to repair its tail when connectivity returns.

Do not attach market meaning to a technical pause. “No new data” is not the same as “price unchanged”.

Changing asset or timeframe

Each change needs a new candle base and realignment of connected surfaces. The interface can show a short coordinated transition. Do not compare an old candle with indicators that have already moved to the new interval.

Wait until the new label is active, loading has ended, the final candle is current, and cycle, spectrum and indicators share the same context.

NOW cannot fix missing data

NOW restores visual position. It cannot create candles when the series is empty, frozen or interrupted. Check network, source state, active CSV or replay and visible terminal messages instead.

Troubleshooting

  • Last candle is missing after a timeframe change: wait, press NOW once and check the final bar time.
  • Chart stays in the past: NOW may be hidden in Extra settings; expose it or use the compact mobile control.
  • No data after CSV: remove the file, select the online market again and wait for loading.
  • Chart is frozen after replay: leave the mode completely and re-check the current candle.
  • There are gaps: stop interpretation; reload the context and record symbol, timeframe, time and screenshot.
